Overview
Pool equipment in Middle Tennessee works hard. Pumps run long hours through humid summers in the 90s, heaters sit idle all summer and then get pushed in spring and fall, and filters load up with pollen, leaves and storm debris. Freezing winter nights crack valves and fittings that were left holding water. Most equipment gives a warning first.
That warning might be a new noise at the pad, a pressure gauge that climbs faster than usual, a heater that fires and quits, or a pool that will not hold its level. The symptom and the cause are often in different places. A leaking pump seal can come from a suction problem, and a heater that will not light is often a flow problem.
So we look before we quote. Our technician checks the whole equipment pad, not just the part you called about. If the repair is simple, we say so. If a unit is at the end of its life, we tell you plainly and explain your options. You get a free, no-obligation quote before any work begins.

Is it time?
These pool equipment warning signs are worth a repair call before a small problem turns into a bigger one.
01
The pool pump hums, screeches, leaks or will not hold prime.
02
The pool filter pressure gauge climbs quickly or never moves at all.
03
The pool heater fires and shuts off or shows an error code.
04
Water is dripping or pooling anywhere on the pool equipment pad.
05
The pool loses more water than normal evaporation in Nashville weather.
06
A pool drain cover, return fitting or pool light is cracked, loose or stuck.
Repair basics
Long run times in summer and hard freezes in winter wear pool equipment in ways worth knowing before something fails.
01
Most pool repair problems start at the equipment pad, where the pump, filter, heater and valves share the same water. Because they are connected, one failure often looks like another. Low flow from a clogged impeller can shut off a heater. A suction air leak can make a pump lose prime and a filter spit air. We check the whole system in order, from the skimmer to the returns, so the part we replace is the part that actually failed. That keeps your repair bill focused on the real problem.
02
Not every pool repair is worth doing. A capacitor, shaft seal, o-ring, gauge or spider gasket is a small repair that can add years of service. A cracked filter tank, a leaking heat exchanger on an older heater or a burned-out motor on an aging pump can be a different story. When a replacement makes more sense, we tell you why and give you a free quote for both options. You make the call, and there is no pressure either way.
03
The Middle Tennessee calendar shapes the repairs we see. Spring pool openings uncover cracked valves, stuck heaters and pumps that will not prime after sitting all winter. Summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms bring overheated motors, tripped breakers and control boards hit by power surges. Fall leaves clog impellers and baskets across Brentwood, Franklin and Belle Meade. Freezing nights can crack filters, valves and skimmers that were left full of water. Catching these early keeps a small pool repair from becoming a big one.
04
A Nashville pool loses some water to evaporation on hot, windy summer days, and gains some back in heavy rain. If the level keeps dropping faster than normal, something may be leaking. The equipment pad is the first place we look, with pump seals, filter o-rings, valve gaskets and heater unions all common spots. Skimmer throats, return fittings and light niches are next. When we find the source, we explain what the repair involves and quote it before any work starts.

FAQ

Every pool repair depends on the equipment and the part that failed, so we start with a free, no-obligation quote. Call (615) 624-7624 to set it up.
The most common pool repairs we see are pump capacitors and shaft seals, filter o-rings and valve gaskets, heater ignition and flow faults, and freeze damage to valves and fittings.
Water loss only while the pump runs usually points to a leak on the pressure side, after the pump, such as the filter, valves, heater or return plumbing.
Small parts like seals, gaskets and capacitors are usually worth repairing. If a major part has failed on older equipment, we explain both options and quote each so you can decide.
