Equipment Installations
A new pump should be quieter, cheaper to run and set up for how your pool is used. We size it, install it properly and program it before we leave.

What's included
The pump is the heart of the pool. It pulls water through the skimmers and drains, pushes it through the filter, heater and sanitizer, and sends it back clean. When it fails in the middle of a humid Nashville July, the water can turn in a matter of days.
Most new pumps today are variable-speed. They move the same water at lower speeds, run far quieter and use much less electricity than an old single-speed pump. The savings only show up, though, if the pump is sized correctly and actually programmed for your pool.
Our pool pump installation measures your pool, checks the pipe size and filter, and matches the pump to them. We plumb it with unions, connect the bonding wire, wire it to the correct circuit, prime it, check for leaks and set the speed schedule so the water turns over without wasting power.
Is it time?
A pump seal or capacitor is often a simple repair, but these signs usually mean a pool pump replacement makes more sense.
01
The pool pump motor is loud, grinding or screeching from worn bearings.
02
The pump motor overheats and shuts off on hot Nashville afternoons.
03
The pool pump housing or volute is cracked and leaking at the pad.
04
An old single-speed pump is driving up your summer electric bill.
05
Your pump has needed a new seal, capacitor or motor more than once.
06
Parts for your pool pump model are discontinued or hard to find.
Pump choices
Federal efficiency rules mean most new pool pumps sold today are variable-speed. That is good news for Nashville pool owners. A variable-speed pump can run slowly for most of the day, which cuts electricity use sharply compared with a single-speed motor running at full power. It is also much quieter, easier on the filter and gentler on plumbing. Higher speeds are still there when you need them for vacuuming, a spa, a waterfall or a pool cleaner.
Bigger is not better with pool pumps. The right size depends on the pool's gallons, how many times a day you want the water turned over, the diameter of the plumbing and what the filter can handle. A pump that is too large for the pipe or filter wastes power and runs at high pressure. We measure all of it before recommending a pump, so it fits your Middle Tennessee pool rather than the biggest box on the shelf.
A variable-speed pump saves nothing if it is left running at high speed all day. We program a daily schedule with a low-speed filtration period for circulation, a higher-speed window for skimming and for the cleaner, and any extra speeds needed for a heater, spa or water feature. Summer in Greater Nashville calls for more turnover than spring, so we show you how to adjust the run time as the season changes.
A pool pump has to be bonded to the rest of the equipment and connected to the correct circuit. We connect the bonding wire, check the wiring at the pump and plumb it with unions so the pump can be removed later without cutting pipe. Valves are set so the pump can be isolated for service. Then we prime it, run it and check every joint on the suction and return sides for leaks.
Sometimes a new pump shows up weaknesses elsewhere on the pad. An old filter may be too small for the new pump's flow, and a heater may need a minimum flow to fire. If your filter or heater is near the end of its life, replacing them together can save a second visit and keep the whole system balanced. We will tell you honestly if the rest of the pad is fine as it is.

In most cases, yes. A variable-speed pump running at low speed uses far less electricity than an old single-speed pump running at full power.
A pump seal or capacitor is often worth repairing. If the motor, bearings or housing are failing on an older pump, a pool pump replacement is usually the better value.
Most Nashville pools need enough run time to turn the water over at least once a day, and more in hot, heavy-use weeks. We set a schedule for your pool during the pool pump installation.
Most variable-speed pumps can connect to existing automation. We confirm compatibility with your system before the install.
Check that the pump basket stays full of water and that no drips appear at the unions in the first week. If anything looks off, call us and we will take a look.
Cartridge, DE or sand filters sized to your pump, plumbed with unions and pressure tested.
Gas heaters and heat pumps sized to your pool and spa, installed and fire tested.
LED pool light replacement with the circuit, GFCI and fixture seal checked and wet tested.
